Hilton was whisked out of prison shortly after midnight and along with the monitoring device, she has had the original 45 day sentence reinstated. She has been credited with five days served and will be "forced" to spend the remaining 40 days at home with only a range of 3,000-4,000 square feet. Hilton will now have to struggle to enjoy confinement in her mansion that includes a swimming pool, huge kitchen and two living rooms- one that is equipped with a stripper pole. Unfortunately, Hilton will not be allowed out of the house for parties or events, so it looks like the pina colada cabanas will be thrown up next to the pool soon.
Los Angeles City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo, whose department handled her case has blasted the L A Sheriff's Department for it's decision to reassign her to house arrest. He also added that he found her release on medical grounds "puzzling" since the L A County jails are "well equipped" to deal with inmate medical conditions. Only the judge had the power to modify the conditions of her sentence which in her case, had been very explicit.
"If law enforcement officials are to enjoy the respect of those we are charged with protecting, we cannot tolerate a two-tiered jail system where the rich and powerful receive special treatment. We must ensure that in our city, in our nation and under our Constitution, justice remains blind." Delgadillo concluded.
Hilton stated " I am going to serve the remaining 40 days of my sentence. I have learned a great deal from this ordeal and hope that others have learned from my mistakes."
I am sure that Paris Hilton is going to have a very tough time serving out the rest of her time, time that she deserved for flagrantly violating her parole. Thanks to the Sheriff's department, she can sit by the pool and suffer now. I am sure that she has learned a great deal from this experience and The Spoof's parody probably says it best.......
"If I ever drink and drive again, I'm going to pay someone to take the rap for me before it get's to court."
Update: Paris Hilton has been ordered to report to Superior Court at 9 a.m. Friday and face Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer, the judge who sentenced her. He issued the order after the city attorney filed a petition late Thursday afternoon questioning whether Sheriff Lee Baca should be held in contempt of court for releasing Hilton. Judge Sauer specifically ruled that she could not serve her sentence at home with electronic monitoring.
