Family affair.........
"Did you get them?" stated Lisa Egersdorf.
Lisa Egersdorf, 36, picked up her 17 year old son Damian Garcia at Granite Connection High School in Millcreek UT on September 22 2014 but it wasn't to save him from walking home. It seems that Damian got into an altercation with three other men inside the school and administrators broke it up. Garcia got into the front seat of his mother's Toyota Corolla and a girl and two other juveniles got into the back seat. Garcia told his mother than the other men had jumped him and she reportedly told him that it was alright, they were going to get them.
Egersdorf then drove to the 7-Eleven where the two adults and one juvenile from the fight had run to. The witnesses in her car stated that they heard the shots and saw Garcia leaning out of the window firing a gun at the group. Their Chevy Tahoe was hit several times by bullets and another vehicle parked in the lot was hit once. No one was hurt in the shooting and Egersdorf drove away.
She was arrested the next day and her son was charged the next day. Egersdorf was charged with six counts of discharging a firearm, three counts of aggravated assault, one count of obstructing justice and three counts of reckless endangerment. Garcia was charged as an adult because the charges would be a felony if he were an adult and he has previously been committed to a secure facility. He was charged with six counts of discharging a firearm, three counts of aggravated assault, one count of reckless endangerment and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
It has been reported that Egersdorf and her son are members of the same gang and the attack was aimed at members of a rival gang. What is certain is her criminal record which includes a conviction for misdemeanor assault in 2012. In May 2012, Egersdorf gave a ride to her son and his friends over to the Westwood Apartments in Murray UT. He got out of the car and smashed the windows out of another man's car with a baseball bat.
Members of the victim's family came out of the apartment to confront Egersdorf's son and he went after them with the bat. One of the people was injured severely enough to have to go to the hospital and the car had to be towed. Her son left the complex with his friends but was later arrested and charged with aggravated assault and criminal mischief as a juvenile. Egersdorf was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, criminal mischief and riot. She later pleaded guilty to reduced charges of criminal mischief, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and attempted obstruction of justice
Evidently, her son Damian needs to have his mom drive him to his criminal endeavors. Maybe this time they can do time in the same facility so that they can enjoy "family days." I do hope that the prosecution takes note of the escalation within this family of criminals and takes away the family car for a good long time before someone really does get seriously hurt.
